Class Schedule Effective May 1, 2004
New! Beginning Class
• Saturdays 10 – 11 am
• Basic Technique: Appropriate for students with little or no dance training. Emphasis on arms, footwork, and understanding of flamenco rhythm.
Beginning Level:
• Tuesdays and Thursdays 6 – 7 pm
• Beginning Technique and Choreography: Appropriate for students with some dance training. Emphasis on arms, footwork, palmas, and understanding of flamenco rhythm.
Intermediate-Advanced Level:
• Tuesdays and Thursdays 7 – 8 pm; Saturdays 11 – 1 pm
• Appropriate for students with at least two years of flamenco dance training. In addition to fundamental techniques in arms, footwork and palmas, class will also emphasize turns, contratiempo, and begin working with fans and mantones.
• Choreography: Alegrias, Bulerias, Guajiras, Tientos
Advanced Level:
• Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 – 9 pm; Saturdays 11 – 1 pm
• Students will continue to hone fundamental techniques in arms, footwork and palmas, as well as work on turns, classical technique, contratiempo, castanets, fans and mantones.
• Choreography: Alegrias, Bulerias, Soleares, Siguiriya, Zapateado
